Visitors from France

Well Christmas has been and gone and apart from the rather not so good weather we had a great time.  Our lodge was full of B & B guests and it turned out that all but one were from France.  As Greg's family originate from France he too can claim to be a little bit french.

Our guests all had a lot in common as they were keen runners.  In spite of the intermittent  rain they all most the most the surroundings and went for runs and bush walks everyday. They all were able to explore the Coromandel, visiting Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach and Coromandel township.  Ludovic found a new restaurant that we didn't know about just south of Coromandel town called The Oyster Company where they dined out on fresh local oysters for lunch.  Ludovic said he would definitely recommend it if you are a fan of oysters.

After our French visitors departed we had a lovely English family to stay for a couple of days.  They were great company and described in the visitors book that "it is an incredible area to explore".  Our son Oli from Wellington was staying too and he is a mad keen mountain biker so on Christmas Day he and our eldest son Dan went for a bike ride up on one of the local tracks in the Kaimai Ranges behind the house.  Oli also manages to get in a bit of surfing at local Waihi Beach.
